Steam coal imports through the port of Dahej fell by 20.25% month-on-month to 611,205 in December 2015 tons from 766,454 tons in November 2015, according to provisional data available with ICMW. The same was at 250,014 tons in November 2014.
For the first nine months (April-December) of 2015-16, steam coal imports through the port stood at 8,954,110 tons against 276,014 tons for the same period of last fiscal, though for seven months there were no data available.

In December 2015, a volume of 15,363 tons came from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 3,328 to Rs 4,242 ($49- $63) per ton. Further details of 595,842 tons were not available.
In November 2015, a volume of 15,000 tons came from Indonesia at Rs 3,096 ($ 47) per ton, 242,828 tons came from South Africa at a range of Rs 3,166 -4,576 ($48-$69) per ton while details of the remaining 508,626 tons were not available.
