Deswik to launch India operations

March 4: Leading Australian mining technology firm, Deswik Mining Consultants, is planning to set up operations in India, an informed source said.

Deswik, a global leader in mining software and consultancy, will start with a branch office and start developing software in India in the second phase, the source said.

The company has recently held talks with Coal India Ltd (CIL) and other Indian miners and found “significant opportunity” in the Indian mining sector, he added.

Deswik Suite is used on sites worldwide to deliver mine plans for all mining styles, i.e. Open CutCoal, Underground Coal, Open Pit Metals and Underground Metals.
