Dhamra Port set to increase vessel-related charges

December 17: Dhamra Port has decided to increase its vessel-related charges from January 1, 2015, according to a recent notice by port officials.

“Dhamra Port vessel-related charges (VRC) will be increased with effect from January 1, 2015. Any vessel availing berth on or after January 1, 2015 will have to pay the revised VRC,” the notification said.

According to the notification, from January 1, 2015, rates of port dues (per gross ton or gt) will be $1.1713, pilotage and towage (per gt) will be $0.8518 and berth hire charges (per gt/hour) will be $0.0095.

The reason for increased vessel charges and current rates could not be known as the concerned person could not be contacted.
