Sutirtha Bhattacharya, CMD of Coal India while speaking to ET Now has thrown lights on
various aspects that Coal India will look in the coming days. Here are the main key take
aways from his interaction with ET Now.
Sutirtha Bhattacharya: The Coal India has three operating subsidiaries. Central Coalfield is
fully operating in Jharkhand, BCCL is almost fully operating in Jharkhand, ECL is
substantially operating in Jharkhand.
In addition to that, we have CMPDIL which is our mining constancy wing only one of the
most important coal consultancy wing which has headquarter in Ranchi. We are going to
have much better kind of mine ability to the reserve. Jharkhand has huge reserve so its
extraction will go up with scientific mining, keeping economics in mind and compatibility with
ecology and mine, keeping local interest in mind and having multiplier effect into economy in
mind.
We would also like to promote very strongly the clean coal technologies, coal gas in Moonidih
in BCCL the methane in 9th and 10th of March the world coal mine methane initiative, there
will be seminar organised by CMPDIL. In addition to that, we will also look at how to have
coal converted into chemicals like as you know it has been happening in some parts of the
world.
The exact situation that we look at is from A to Z scientific , scientific monitoring, local skill development, higher economic production and
logistic for dispatching.
