Ennore steam coal imports edge down in Sept m-o-m

October 30: Steam coal imports through Ennore Port edged down 00.35% to 796,351 tons in September 2014 against 799,111 tons in August, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
Imports of the material in September 2013 stood lower at 597,230 tons.
In the first six months of the current financial year (2014-15), non-coking coal imports through the port stood at 5,989,864 tons against 3,281,928 tons imported during the same period in 2013-14.
Following is the monthly break-up of steam coal imports via Ennore Port in FY’14 and FY’15:

In September, all the consignments arrived from Indonesia in a range of Rs 2,844 – Rs 5,585 ($47-91) per ton.
In August too, the entire volume of steam coal arrived from Indonesia but in a range of Rs 2,397 – Rs 5,633 ($39-92) per ton.
