Ennore steam coal imports up 28.02% in Dec m-o-m

January 28: Steam coal imports through Ennore Port rose 28.02% to 1,225,069 tons in December 2014 against 956,941 tons in November, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
Imports of the material in December 2013 stood lower at 621,338 tons.
In the first nine months of the current financial year (2014-15), non-coking coal imports through the port stood at 9,010,738 tons against 4,867,333 tons imported during the same period in 2013-14.
Following is the monthly break-up of steam coal imports via Ennore Port in FY’14 and FY’15:

During December 2014, the entire material came in from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 2,728-Rs 5,516 ($43-$86) per ton.
However, in November, all the consignments arrived from Indonesia in a range of Rs 2,818 – Rs 5,430 ($46-88) per ton.
