Ennore steam coal imports up 40% in Mar m-o-m

April 29: Steam coal imports through Ennore Port climbed up 40.29% to 1,169,630 tons in March 2015 from 833,680 tons in February 2015, as per provisional information available with ICMW.

Imports of the material in March 2014 stood at 941,267 tons.

With the March figures, total imports of the material in financial year 2014-15, stood at 11,954,314 tons against 7,831,591 tons imported during the previous fiscal of 2013-14.

Following is the monthly break-up of steam coal imports via Ennore Port in FY14 and FY15:

In March 2015, a volume of 1,036,980 tons came in from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 2,823-Rs 5,536 ($45-$88) per ton.

During February 2015, however, the entire material came in from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 2,4 85-Rs 5,145 ($40-$82) per ton.
