Ennore steam coal imports up 5% in Oct m-o-m

November 27: Steam coal imports through Ennore Port edged rose 5.33% to 838,864 tons in October 2014 against 796,351 tons in September, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
Imports of the material in October 2013 stood lower at 643,860 tons.
In the first seven months of the current financial year (2014-15), non-coking coal imports through the port stood at 6,828,728 tons against 3,925,788 tons imported during the same period in 2013-14.
Following is the monthly break-up of steam coal imports via Ennore Port in FY’14 and FY’15:

In October, all the consignments arrived from Indonesia in a band of Rs 2,538 – Rs 5,432 ($41-87) per ton.
In September too, all the consignments arrived from Indonesia but in a range of Rs 2,844 – Rs 5,585 ($47-91) per ton.
