Essar Shipping restructures top management

April 2: Essar Shipping Ltd (ESL), on April 2, said it has given additional responsibility of whole-time director to Capt Anoop Kumar Sharma after retirement of Ramakrishnan A R.

Sharma, who was associated with ESL since August 2008 as the CEO of the company, will be directly responsible to the board, a release by ESL said.

He was previously associated with Shipping Corporation of India and was responsible for exploring global business opportunities for bulk carriers, tankers, containers and other vessels and developing new businesses.

ESL operates a diversified fleet of 15 vessels, including VLCCs, Capesize, mini-capesize, Supramaxes, mini-bulk carriers and tugs.
