Essar expects final forest nod for Salaya Port soon

May16: Essar Ports Limited (EPL) expects its Salaya bulk terminal located in Gujarat, with a projected capacity of 20 million ton per annum, to receive the final forest clearance (FCA) soon, the company said in a statement on May 15.
Stage I forest clearance for Salaya Port has been received. Compensatory afforestation land has been finalised and an agreement has been executed. The FCA clearance is expected soon, the company indicated.
The company also received environmental clearance for expansion of its Hazira terminal.
It also expects to start construction of the Paradip coal terminal soon as the latter started vacating land earmarked for the terminal.
These new projects are expected to increase third-party cargo of Essar Ports in the current financial year, the company said.
