Exports of S African coal to China at 164,999 tons in June

July 8: Exports of South African coal to China stood at 164,999 tons in June 2014 while during the previous month it was at nil, according to data made available to ICMW by one of the promoters of the terminal.
In fact, China’s coal imports from South Africa had also fallen by nearly 80% in April from a high of more than 1.06 million tons in March this year.
Exports of South African coal to China in June 2013 stood at 1,116,980 tons.
With this, total exports of South African coal to China stood at 2,492,629 tons during the first six months of 2014, down 58.28% from 5,974,550 tons exported during the corresponding period of 2013.
In June, only a single vessel containing the entire quantity of 164,999 tons of coal had sailed from RBCT to China.
