June 23: An extension of subdued trend was witnessed in international coal markets on June 20 amidst continued absence of Indian and Chinese buyers, market sources said.
The Chinese demand for imported coal weakened further amidst reporters of cuts in power rates in the country whereas Indian buyers remained out of the market as most of them have already finalised deals for delivery till August i.e. monsoon.
Any major fresh enquiry from Indian companies are likely to start only towards end of July or middle of August, they said.
