New UserFY16 PCI imports via Vizag Port drop moderate 28%

PCI coal imports through Vizag Port in March 2016 were at 32,025 tons while in February 2016 these were at a mere 7,754 tons, showing a huge increase of more than 313% month-on-month, as per provisional data available with ICMW.
However, total PCI imports of the commodity for the entire fiscal of 2015-16 stood at 467,990 tons while the volume for the previous fiscal stood at 646,679 tons, showing a drop of 27.63% year-on-year.
In March 2015, however, volumes were at a hefty 120,041 tons.

March 2016 imports comprised a single consignment from Canada at a unit price of Rs 4,818 ($70).
In February 2016, a single consignment arrived from Australia at a unit price of Rs 4,749 ($69).
