Met coke imports through the port of Kolkata dropped by 56.73% month-on-month to 29,818 tons in March 2016 against 68,917 tons in February 2016, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
With the March figures, total imports of the material in fiscal 2015-16 edge up 4.31% to 564,836 tons against 541,475 tons seen in the previous fiscal.
Met coke imports in March 2015 were year-on-year at 28,531 tons.

In March 2016, imports comprised a volume of 22,148 tons from China at a price range of Rs 6,704 - Rs 32,280 ($99-475) per ton, 170 tons from Japan at Rs 18,558 ($275)/ton and the balance 7,500 tons from the Russia at Rs 9,197 ($136)/ton.
In February 2016, imports comprised a volume of 68,815 tons from China at a price range of Rs 6,844 - Rs 11,053 ($99-162) per ton while the balance 102 tons came in from Japan at Rs 19,408 ($284)/ton.
