New UserFY16 pet coke imports via Vizag Port rise sharp 94%

: Pet coke imports through Vizag Port went up 15.88% month-on-month to 196,706 tons in March 2016 against a volume of 169,740 tons seen in the preceding month of February 2016, according to provisional information available with ICMW.
With the addition of the March figures, total pet coke imports for fiscal 2015-16 stood at 1,562,149 tons against 803,601 tons reported in the previous fiscal, rising 94.40% year-on-year.
In March 2015, imports of the material were at a much lower 80,588 tons.

March 2016 saw 25,773 tons arriving from China at a unit price of Rs 6,035 ($89), 100,029 tons from the US at a price band of Rs 2,948 – 3,815 ($44-57) per ton, 27,281 tons from Saudi Arabia at a unit price of Rs 2,716 ($39) and 42,623 tons from Indonesia at a price band of Rs 12,258 – Rs 12,457 ($181-182) per ton.
February 2016 saw 50,828 tons arriving from China in a price band of Rs 6,471 – 14,212 ($94 -208) per ton, 74,912 tons from the US at a price band of Rs 3,265 – 3,355 ($48-49) per ton and the balance 44,000 tons from the Philippines at a unit price of Rs 2,334 ($34).
