May 5: Shaking off the dismal state of March, the G8 grade coal (GCV range 4,901-5,200 Kcal/kg) offered by three subsidiaries of Coal India (CIL) attracted fairly good demand in the April auctions on coaljunction.
The total allotment stood at mere 126,070 tons at a weighted average price of Rs 2,446 per ton as against the offering of 150,610 tons during the month.
However, the G8 grade coal (GCV range 4,901-5,200 Kcal/kg) offered by two subsidiaries of Coal India (CIL) met with extremely poor demand in March auctions on coaljunction.
There was no bid for offerings from Giridih and Murpar UG mines and the total allotment stood at mere 19,720 tons at a weighted average price of Rs 2,440 per ton as against the offering of 60,200 tons during the month.
In February, strong demand was witnessed for this grade as the entire offered quantity of 37,700 tons was allotted at a weighted average price of Rs 2,390/ton.
