Fall in imported coal stocks at New Mangalore Port

February 3: The stocks of imported coal (steam coal, coking coal and coke) at New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) dropped 22.72% as in January 31, 2014 to 0.85 million tons (mt) compared to 1.10 mt recorded in the first week of January 2014 (ended January 3), according to data available with ICMW.

In the first 10 months (April-January) of 2013-14, almost 5.36 mt of coal was imported through NMPT out of which steam coal comprised 3.86 mt, coking coal was at 377,570 tons, metallurgical coke at 540,688 tons, petroleum coke at 429,536 tons, anthracite coal at 43,807 tons and PCI coal at 87,807 tons.
