Anthracite coal imports through the port of Vizag more than trebled to 39,300 tons in February 2016 against 8,053 tons in January 2016, as per provisional data available with ICMW.
In February 2016, all the consignments arrived from Russia at a price band of Rs 5,738 Rs 6,063 ($84-88) per ton.
In January 2016, 8,000 tons arrived from Russia at a unit price of Rs 6,063 ($89-90) and the balance 53 tons from China at a unit price of Rs 22,262 ($331).

Vizag Port Feb gypsum imports spurt 120% m-o-m
India Coal Market Watch
March 21: Gypsum imports spurted by 119.54% month-on-month in January 2016 to 197,301 tons against 89,870 tons in January 2016, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
However, throughout the current fiscal, import volumes of the material had been swaying wildly.
In February 2015, gypsum imports through the port had stood at a mere 707 tons.
With the February figures, total gypsum imports for the first 11 months of 2015-16 stood at 690,988 tons against 677,629 tons seen in the same period of the previous fiscal, edging up 1.97% year-on-year.
Imports of the material for fiscal 2014-15 stood at 702,789 tons.

In February 2015, a volume of 196,064 tons arrived from Oman at a wide price range of Rs 1,544 - 25,239 ($23-366) per ton while 1,237 tons came in from Vietnam in a band of Rs 2,540 – Rs 3,152 ($37-46) per ton.
In January 2016, a volume of 88,831 tons arrived from Oman at a price range of Rs 1,092 - 10,680 ($16-158) per ton, 655 tons from Vietnam in a band of Rs 10,663 – Rs 10,703 ($159) per ton and 146 tons from the UAE at a unit price of Rs 9,966 ($146), amongst others.
