Feb gypsum imports via Vizag Port drop 53.98% m-o-m

March 12: Gypsum imports through the port of Vizag dropped 53.98% to 44,217 tons in February 2014 against a volume of 96,101 tons in January 2014, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
In February, 195 tons arrived from Oman in a price band of Rs 9,498 – Rs 9,806 ($151-$156) per ton, while 40 tons arrived from Pakistan at a unit price of Rs 9,773 ($157), 43,900 tons from Thailand in a price bracket of Rs 1,782 – Rs 1,778 ($28) and the balance 82 tons from Saudi Arabia at a unit price of Rs 10,501 ($167).
In January, however, 55,545 tons arrived from Oman in a price range of Rs 1,640 – Rs 9,799 ($26-$156) per ton, 40,350 tons arrived from Thailand in a price range of Rs 1,683 – Rs 1,680 ($27) per ton, 130 tons came from Saudi Arabia in a range of Rs 5,575 – Rs 10,311 ($90-$166) per tons, 36 tons came from the UAE at Rs 9,448 ($152) per ton and 40 tons arrived from other areas at a unit price of Rs 10,797 ($174).
