After a gap two months, 587 tons of met coke were imported via VO Chidambaranar Port (Tuticorin Port) in February 2016, according to provisional data available with ICMW. Incidentally, 419 tons of the material had been imported via this port in November 2015.
For the first 11 months (April- February) of the current fiscal (2015-16), met coke imports via this port stood at 4,361 tons while 632 tons had been imported in the same period of the previous fiscal (2014-15).

In February 2016, the entire volume of 587 tons came in from China at a price range of Rs 16,150-Rs 16,268 ($236-$236) per ton.
In January 2016, there were no imports of met coke via this port.
