Steam coal imports through the port of Dahej dropped by 3.68% month-on-month to 741,008 tons in February 2016 from 769,397 tons in January 2016, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
The same stood at 170,989 tons in February 2015.
For the first 11 months (April-February) of 2015-16, steam coal imports through the port stood at 10,464,515 tons against 785,925 tons seen for the same period of last fiscal, though for seven months there were no data available.

In February 2016, a volume of 586,128 tons came from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 2,372 to Rs 4,141 ($35- $60) per ton, 3,550 tons from South Africa at a unit price of Rs 3,660 ($53) per ton. Details on remaining 151,331 tons were not available.
In January 2016, a volume of 382,851 tons came from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 2,136 to Rs 3,982 ($32- $58) per ton, 73,780 tons from Russia at a unit price of Rs 3,330 ($49) per ton, 65,997 tons from South Africa at a price range of Rs 4,239-Rs 4,646 ($63-$69) per ton. Details on 246,769 tons were not available.
