Feb steam coal imports via New Mangalore surge m-o-m

April 1: Non-coking coal imports through New Mangalore Port during February 2015 were up sharply by almost 101.22% to 177,856 tons compared to 88,390 tons in January, 2015, according to provisional data available with ICMW
In February 2014, non-coking coal imports via the port stood at 434,066 tons.
Total imports of non-coking coal through New Mangalore Port in April-February, 2014-15 stood at 19,20,825 tons against 39,38,256 tons recorded in the same period of the previous financial year.

In February 2015, the entire material came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 4,130-Rs 5,553 per ton ($66-$89) while in January 2015, the entire material had come in from South Africa at a price range of Rs 4,257-Rs 5,425 ($68-$85) per ton.
