November 21: Spot prices of coal in the international markets continued to firm up on increased enquiries from India, industry sources said.
After waiting for a considerable period, it appears that Indian companies, particularly cement makers, are finally taking decisions to procure coal, they said.
The recent tenders floated by NTPC and CIL to procure a total of around 12 million tons of coal appear to have led to a firmness in prices, they added.
