Four agencies bid for HPCC’s coal sampling tender

November 27: Altogether four parties have submitted bids for the tender floated by
Haryana Power Purchase Centre (HPCC) for selection of an independent third party agency for sampling, analysis and testing of domestic and imported coal.
“The contract is yet to be signed as the tendering process is still on. While the technical bids have been opened, we are yet to examine the price bids,” a source said.
He, however, declined to name the agencies that have taken part in the tender.
As per the tender document, the sampling and testing work would be done at the unloading point of the 1,320-MW Mahatma Gandhi Super Thermal Power Project at Jhajjar.
The last date for receipt of bids was November 3.
Asked about the quality of domestic coal received by the plant, the source said, “The quality of coal varies from time to time.”
