February 19: Spot prices of South African steam coal softened sharply on February 18, a day after a 13-day upward trend came to a halt on February 17, largely on correction in futures markets amidst reports of reduced buying from Europe, market sources said.
Other origin coals continued to remain subdued amidst low demand from major buying countries like China and India, they said.
