November 03: The spot prices of steam coal in international markets slipped further on October 31 on lack of demand even as select grades (4200 kcal/kg GAR) material from Indonesia remained in attraction to some extent, market sources said.
Some Indian buyers eyed select grades of Indonesian coal, but still the bids rates were much lower than the offers.
With China practically out of the market, other major buyers were avoiding fresh commitments anticipating further softness in prices, they said.
