G-7 grade coal attracts poor demand in June e-auction

July 30: There was poor demand for G-7 grade (GCV ranging from 5,201 to 5,500 Kcal/kg) coal offered by two subsidiaries (CCL and BCCL) of CIL for allotment through the MSTC platform during June 2014 as only 10,100 tons got allotted in the offered quantity of 30,000 at a weighted average price of Rs 2,349 per ton.
In May, however, very strong demand was witnessed for this grade offered by two subsidiaries of CIL for allotment through the MSTC platform as the entire offered quantity of 28,500 tons got allotted at a weighted average price of Rs 2,504 per ton.
Moderate demand was witnessed for G-7 grade coal offered by four subsidiaries of CIL for allotment through the MSTC platform during April 2014 as out of 75,000 tons offered, 51,940 tons got allotted at a weighted average price of Rs 2,694 per ton.
Moderate demand was also witnessed in March for G-7 grade coal offered by two subsidiaries of CIL for allotment through the MSTC platform as out of the 66,940 tons offered, 33,510 tons got allotted at a weighted average price of Rs 2,600 per ton.
