G-7 grade coal attracts strong demand in Aug e-auction

September 26: There was strong demand for G-7 grade (GCV ranging from 5,201 to 5,500 Kcal/kg) coal offered by two subsidiaries (CCL and BCCL) of CIL for allotment through the MSTC platform during August 2014 as the entire offered quantity of 3,800 tons got allotted at a weighted average price of Rs 4,049 per ton.
However, there was good demand for G-7 grade coal offered by two subsidiaries (CCL and SECL) in July 2014 as 35,410 tons got allotted out of the offered quantity of 38,250 at a weighted average price of Rs 2,934 per ton.
On the other hand, there was poor demand for this grade in June 2014 as only 10,100 tons got allotted out of the offered quantity of 30,000 tons at a weighted average price of Rs 2,349 per ton.
