Strong demand was witnessed for G12 grade coal (GCV of 3,701-4,000 Kcal/kg) as out of 1,340,000 tons offered by SECL, MCL and CCL for sale through the e-auction platform of coaljunction in February 2016, 880,490 tons got allotted at an average weighted price of Rs 1,117, according to data available with ICMW.
However, there was nil demand for 75,000 tons of G12 grade coal (GCV of 3,701-4,000 Kcal/kg) grade offered by CCL for sale through coaljunction in January 2016.
On the other hand, better demand was witnessed for a higher quantity of G12 grade coal offered by CCL and SECL for sale through coaljunction in December 2015 and the average weighted price also declined, according to data available with ICMW.
Out of the entire offered quantity of 330,000 tons of G12 grade on coaljunction in December 2015, a volume of 228,200 tons got allotted at a weighted average price of Rs 1,069 per ton.
