G13 grade coal sees very poor demand in Jan e-auction

February 6: Very poor demand was witnessed for G13 (GCV between 3,400 and 3,700 Kcal/kg) grade coal offered in the e-auctions conducted on the coaljunction platform during January 2014 as out of the offered quantity of 1,260 tons, only 60 tons got allotted during the month. The weighted average price of the allotted quantity during the month stood at Rs 1,497/ton.

In December 2013, very strong demand was witnessed for G13 grade coal as the entire offered quantity of 280,000 tons got allotted during the month. The weighted average price of the allotted quantity during the month stood at Rs 1,567/ton.

However, in November 2013, good demand was witnessed for G13 grade coal offered in the e-auctions conducted on the coaljunction platform as 340,000 tons of the offered quantity of 341,269 tons got allotted. The weighted average price of the allotted quantity during the month stood at Rs 1,280/ton.
