G2 grade sees very strong demand in April e-auction

May 5: There was very strong demand for G2 (GCV between 6,700 and 7,000 Kcal/kg) grades of coal in the e-auction held in April 2015 as the entire offered quantity of 8,250 tons by NEC of CIL got allotted at a weighted average price of Rs 6,060 per ton on the e-auction platform of coaljunction.
However, there was no offering of G2 on coaljunction in March 2015.
However, in February, out of the total offered quantity of 29,500 tons, the allotted quantum was 29,490 tons at a weighted average price of Rs 5,668. In the entire quantity, 27,500 tons were offered by NEC of CIL and the full amount got allotted while out of 2,000 tons of the same grade offered by ECL, 1,990 tons were allotted during February 2015.
