Low demand was witnessed for G5 grade coal (GCV range of 5,801 to 6,100 Kcal/kg) in the February 2016 spot e-auction on coaljunction as out the total quantity of 192,206 tons offered by Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL) and Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), 57,160 got allotted at a weighted average price of Rs 3,006 per ton, according to data available with ICMW.
Similar kind of low demand was witnessed for G5 grade coal in the January 2016 spot e-auction on coaljunction as out the total quantity of 120,410 tons offered by Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) and ECL, 36,000 got allotted at a weighted average price of Rs 3,603 per ton.
However, good demand was witnessed for G5 grade coal in the December 2015 spot e-auction on coaljunction as out of the total quantity of 177,000 tons offered by SECL, ECL and CCL, 124,290 got allotted at a weighted average price of Rs 2,878 per ton.
