New UserG8 coal sees moderate demand in June e-auction

July 7: G8 grade coal (GCV range 4,900-5,200 Kcal/kg) offered by two subsidiaries of CIL met with moderate demand during June 2014 as only 40.26% of the total offered quantity got allotted. The quantity offered during the month stood at 38,400 tons while the total allotted quantity stood at 15,460 tons whereas the weighted average price of the allotted quantity during the month stood at Rs 2,735/ton.
However, G8 grade coal offered by three subsidiaries of CIL met with good demand during May 2014 as 93.94% of the total offered quantity got allotted. Quantity offered during the month stood at 174,000 tons while the total allotted quantity stood at 163,450 tons in May whereas the weighted average price of the allotted quantity during the month stood at Rs 2,460/ton.
During April 2014, the quantity offered stood at 117,680 tons while the total allotted quantity stood at 89,159 tons. During the month, the weighted average price of the allotted quantity stood at Rs 2,691/ton.
