Gangavaram coking coal imports edge up 3% in FY16

Imports of coking coal via Gangavaram Port were up 3.34% to 5,350,079 tons in fiscal 2015-16 against 5,177,394 tons in 2014-15, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
On the other hand, imports of the material via the port declined 67.43% month-on-month to 133,072 tons in March 2016 against 408,618 tons seen in February 2016.

In March 2016, out of the entire volume of 133,072 tons, 59,231 tons came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 5,286 -Rs 5,617 ($77-$83) per ton and 73,841 tons from Indonesia at a price of Rs 5,410 ($80) per ton.
In February 2016, the entire volume of 408,618 tons came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 5,194-Rs 6,334 ($76-$93) per ton.
