Gangavaram coking coal imports up in Nov m-o-m

December 9: Coking coal imports through the port of Gangavaram stood at 496,519 tons in November 2014, sharply up from 31,206 tons recorded in the previous month, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
During November 2013, coking coal imports via the port stood at 417,414 tons.
During the first eight months (April-November) of the current financial year of 2014-15, total steam coal imported through the port stood at 3,351,624 tons while the figure was at 3,244,690 tons during the corresponding period of 2013-14.

In November 2014, the entire material came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 7,592-Rs 8,687 ($123-$140) per ton whereas during October 2014, the entire quantity came in from Mozambique at a price of Rs 6,361 ($102) per ton.
