December 15: Imports of coking coal via Gangavaram Port stood at 352,978 tons in November 2015, down a moderate 43.98% month-on-month compared to 630,068 tons imported in October, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
For the first eight months (April-November) of the current fiscal (2015-16), coking coal imports via Gangavaram Port stood at 3,791,187 tons while 3,351,625 tons had been imported in the same period of the previous fiscal (2014-15).

In November 2015, the entire volume of 352,978 tons came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 5,157-Rs 6,203 ($78-$94) per ton.
In October 2015, out of the entire volume of 630,068 tons, 486,268 tons came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 6,138-Rs 6,736 ($82-$103) per ton, 69,300 tons from Mozambique at a price range of Rs 5,564-Rs 5,595 ($85-$86) per ton and 74,500 tons from the US at Rs 7,161 ($107) per ton.
