Gangavaram’s Oct coking coal imports up 49% m-o-m

November 12: Imports of coking coal via Gangavaram Port stood at 630,068 tons in October 2015, sharply up 48.83% compared to 423,345 tons imported in September 2015, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
For first seven months (April-October) of the current fiscal (2015-16), coking coal imports via Gangavaram Port stood at 3,438,209 tons while there 2,855,106 tons had been imported in the same period of the previous fiscal (2014-15).

In October 2015, out of the entire volume of 630,068 tons, 486,268 tons came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 6,138-Rs 6,736 ($82-$103) per ton, 69,300 tons from Mozambique at a price range of Rs 5,564-Rs 5,595 ($85-$86) per ton and 74,500 tons from the US at Rs 7,161 ($107) per ton.
In September 2015, the entire volume of 423,345 tons came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 5,740-Rs 6,988 ($86-$105) per ton.
