Gangavaram’s coking coal imports fall in Oct m-o-m

November 17: Coking coal imports through the port of Gangavaram stood at 31,206 tons in October 2014, down sharply almost 96.07% from 794,741 tons recorded in the previous month, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
During October 2013, coking coal imports via the port stood at 450,831 tons.

During October 2014, the entire quantity came in from Mozambique at a price of Rs 6,361 ($102) per ton.
However, in September, 619,743 tons came from Australia at a price range of Rs 6,059-Rs 7,906 ($99-$129) per ton, 47,648 tons came from New Zealand at Rs 6,424 ($105) per ton while the balance 127,349 tons came in from the US at a price range of Rs 8,050-Rs 8,466 ($130-$138) per ton.
