April 2: There was a good demand for G-3 grade coal (GCV ranging between 6,400 Kcal/kg and 6,700 Kcal/kg) on the e-auction platform of coaljunction in March 2014 as 97.06% of the offered quantity got allotted. Out of a total quantity of 35,000 tons offered, 33,970 tons got allotted and the weighted average price of the allotted quantity during the month stood at Rs 5,266/ton.
In February 2014, good demand was witnessed as 87.42% of the offered quantity got allotted. Out of a total quantity of 190,790 tons offered, 166,780 tons got allotted and the weighted average price of the allotted quantity during the month stood at Rs 4,319/ton.
However, in January 2014, there was a strong demand for G-3 grade coal as 96.92% of the offered quantity got allotted. Out of a total quantity of 29,500 tons offered, 28,590 tons got allotted and the weighted average price of the allotted quantity during the month stood at Rs 5,505/ton.
