Gujarat Seeks annual contract for 2.5 mt of steam coal

Gujarat State Electricity Corp. is seeking 2.5 million metric tons of imported thermal coal annually for five years for its Sikka power plant.
The state-owned utility in western India is seeking power-plant coal of 5,500 kilocalories per kilogram with moisture of 18 percent, ash of 8 percent and sulfur of 0.6 percent, according to the tender document on its website.
The company expects delivery starting April 2014 at Dahej, Magdalla, Bedi, Navlakhi, Pipavav, Kandla or Mundra, the document said. The tender closes Sept. 24.
