Gupta Coal opts out of Madhuban project

March 11: Gupta Coal, which was part of a consortium that was to build and operate the Madhuban coal washery project of Bharat Coking Coal Ltd (BCCL), has reportedly opted out of the venture, an industry source said.

The contract for the 5 million tons (mt) project was won by HEC and Schenck Process, China which had engaged Gupta Coal for operating the washery once it was designed and built.

However, Gupta Coal is said to be no longer associated with it, the source added.
