Gypsum imports via Chennai port at 1,167 tons in Nov m-o-m

December 16: Gypsum imports through Chennai port were at 1,167 tons in November 2013 against a mere 98 tons reported in October, as per provisional information available with ICMW.

In November, 754 tons arrived from Iran in a price band of Rs 5,292 – Rs 7,372 (85-$117), 355 tons arrived from Thailand in a price band of Rs 5,428 – Rs 10,269 ($86-$162), 57 tons came in from the US at a unit price of Rs 36,335 ($576) among others.

In October 2013, the material was imported from various countries in a price range of Rs 6,229 – 64,177 ($100-$(1032) per ton.
