Gypsum imports via Cochin nosedive to 50 tons in Jan

February 12: Imports of gypsum via Cochin Port stood at 50 tons during the month of January 2015, down 95.13% from 1,027 tons imported during the previous month, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

In January 2015, the entire material came in from United Arab Emirates at a price of Rs 4,904 ($79) per ton whereas during the previous month, 915 tons came from Iran in a price range of Rs 4,331-Rs 5,108 ($69-$82) per ton, 15 tons came from UAE at a price of Rs 2,936 ($47) per ton while the balance 97 tons came from Vietnam at a price range of Rs 12,327-Rs 12,593 ($197) per ton.
