After a gap of 15 months, imports of gypsum resumed in January 2016 with 25,000 tons, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
Prior to this, a volume of 83,000 tons of the material had been last imported via this port in September 2014.
For the first 10 months (April-January) of the current fiscal (2015-16), gypsum imports via Gangavaram Port stood at 25,000 tons while 152,702 tons had been imported in the same period of the previous fiscal (2014-15).

In January 2016, the entire volume of 25,000 tons came in from UAE at a unit price of Rs 1,141 ($17).
