Gypsum imports via Kandla sharply down in Dec

January 9: Imports of gypsum through Kandla Port stood at 5,000 tons in December 2014, sharply down from 35,500 tons reported in November 2014, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
During the first nine months (April-December) of 2014-15, total gypsum imports via the port stood at 321,979 tons whereas the figure stood at 106,118 tons during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.
Following are the monthly details of gypsum imports via the port during 2014-15 and 2013-14:

During December 2014, the entire material came from Iran at a price of Rs 1,332 ($21) per ton.
However, in November 2014, the entire material came from Iran at a price range of Rs 1,197-Rs 1,387 ($19-$22) per ton while in October 2014, the entire material came from Oman at Rs 1,303 ($21) per ton.
