Gypsum imports via Kolkata down 23% in June m-o-m

July 11: Import volumes of gypsum via Kolkata Port dropped 23% to 329 tons in June 2014 against 428 tons in May, as per provisional data available with ICMW.

In June 2014, 24 tons arrived from China, in a band of Rs 19,091 – Rs 19,090 ($319), 72 tons from China at a unit price of Rs 5,662 ($94), 164 tons from Saudi Arabia in a range of Rs 7,641-Rs 8,225 ($126-137), 50 tons from Thailand at Rs 6,224 ($104) per ton, and 19 tons from the US in a range of Rs 51,592 – Rs 58,249 ($858-969) per ton

In May, 219 tons arrived from Iran in a price band of Rs 5,788 – Rs 6,464 ($96-108) per ton, 95 tons arrived from Oman in a band of Rs 3,990 – Rs 8,287 ($66-138) per ton, 41 tons came in from Saudi Arabia at a unit price of Rs 8,381 ($139) while 73 tons arrived from Thailand in a range of Rs 6,371- Rs 17,264 ($111-287) per ton.
