Gypsum imports via Kolkata drop 23% in Oct m-o-m

November 26: Import volumes of gypsum via Kolkata Port dropped 22.76% to 453 tons in October 2014 against 369 tons seen in September 2014, as per provisional data available with ICMW.
In October 2013, volumes were at 176 tons.
Imports for the first seven months of the current fiscal were at 2,643 tons against a volume of 3,865 tons in the same period of the previous fiscal.

In October, 219 tons arrived from Oman in a band of Rs 5,970 – Rs 6,370 ($96-102) per ton and 164 tons from Saudi Arabia at a unit price of Rs 7,954 ($128) amongst others.
In September, imports comprised 104 tons from China in a band of Rs 10,517- Rs 17,776 ($172- 291) per ton, 41 tons from Oman at a unit price of Rs 8,072 ($131), 205 tons from Saudi Arabia at a unit price of Rs 7,884 ($128), and 19 tons from the US in a band of Rs 50,961 – Rs 57,756 ($825-935) per ton.
