Gypsum imports via Kolkata drop 28.62% in Sept m-o-m

October 24: Import volumes of gypsum via Kolkata Port dropped 28.62% to 369 tons in September 2014 against 517 tons in August, as per provisional data available with ICMW.
Following is the break-up of gypsum imports via Kolkata Port in 2013-14 & 2014-15:

In September, imports comprised 104 tons from China in a band of Rs 10,517- Rs 17,776 ($172- 291) per ton, 41 tons from Oman at a unit price of Rs 8,072 ($131), 205 tons from Saudi Arabia at a unit price of Rs 7,884 ($128), and 19 tons from the US in a a band of Rs 50,961 – Rs 57,756 ($825-935) per ton.
In August, 123 tons arrived from Thailand in a range of Rs 6,432 – Rs 37,704 ($105-621) per ton, 369 tons from Saudi Arabia in a band of Rs 7,750 – Rs 8,436 ($128-138) per ton and the balance 25 tons from China at a unit price of Rs 29,088 ($325).
