Gypsum imports via Kolkata up 38.60% in Aug m-o-m

September 25: Import volumes of gypsum via Kolkata Port rose 38.60% to 517 tons in August 2014 against a volume of 373 tons in July, as per provisional data available with ICMW.

In August, 123 tons arrived from Thailand in a range of Rs 6,432 – Rs 37,704 ($105-621) per ton, 369 tons from Saudi Arabia in a band of Rs 7,750 – Rs 8,436 ($128-138) per ton and the balance 25 tons from China at a unit price of Rs 29,088 ($325).

In July, imports comprised 189 tons from Iran at a unit price of Rs 3,690 ($61), 160 tons from Saudi Arabia in a range of Rs 7,366 – Rs 8,267 ($123-138) per ton and 23 tons from Thailand at a unit price of Rs 17,221 ($284) while one ton came in from Iran at 3,690 ($61).
