Gypsum imports via Mundra Port at 545 tons in Sept

October 28: Gypsum imports via Mundra Port stood at 545 tons during September 2014 while the figure stood at 1,011 tons during the previous month, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
During the first six months (April-September) of 2014-15, total imports of gypsum through the port stood at 56,625 tons against 32,479 tons seen during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.

During September 2014, 62 tons came in from China at a price of Rs 14,993 ($246) per ton, 160 tons came from Iran at a price range of Rs 3,700-Rs 4,106 ($61-$67) per ton, 123 tons came from Oman at a price range of Rs 8,240-Rs 8,307 ($135) per ton while the balance 200 tons came in from Saudi Arabia at a price range of Rs 8,411-Rs 8,514 ($138) per ton.
However, in August 2014, 506 tons came from Iran at a price range of Rs 3,671-Rs 3,673 ($59) per ton, 205 tons from Oman at a price range of Rs 8,239-Rs 8,320 ($135) per ton whereas the balance 300 tons came in from Saudi Arabia at a price of Rs 8,370 ($135-$137) per ton.
